AF joins Ta-ku for 'Songs to Experience' Exhibition

ACID.FLWRS painted furniture and flowers in a room

Early in 2022 ACID.FLWRS was delighted to join Australian musician Ta-ku and friends for SONGS TO EXPERIENCE.

Presented as part of Perth Festival the exhibition was an immersive walk through Ta-ku's upcoming album, with each room presenting a different song in collaboration with a stellar community of artists and designers.

AF responded to Ta-ku's track ‘Two of Us’, reflecting on the dynamic of love at distance. Ironically, Covid lockdowns kept us physically at distance from the exhibition, so the concept had to work around being constructed remotely.

Working with legendary event producer Ian Kanik, AF created a room in signature FutureMarble style, painting a whole dining setting including Philippe Starck Ghost chairs, a gramophone and vintage table. Painted over the course of a month in Sydney, the entire setting was packed up and transported to Perth for installation.

This is AF's largest work to date and it was both a pleasure and a challenge to push the aesthetic beyond flowers while retaining a surreal, colourful vibe. Thanks Ta-ku and friends for an amazing experience!
